Third Grade

Weekly Lessons

Third grade uses Saxon Math, a new series for Northwest this year.  Each day the students will be given two math worksheets, one on math facts and the other on math concepts.  We complete side A together, and the students are expected to complete side B for homework.  Students in third grade should be engaged in reading each night, for at least 30 minutes.  Students are also given a list of spelling words on a weekly basis.  They are given the spelling list on Monday, and we review the words on Wednesday.  On Friday, they are given the final exam.

Special Courses and Activities throughout the Week:

Monday: Music

Tuesday: Physical Education and Art

Wednesday: Choir and Chapel

Thursday: Physical Education and Library

Friday: Computers
