Homework is assigned daily here at Northwest in all grades. Each child will receive an Orange Homework Folder from the school to keep assignments safe for traveling to and from home. Assignments will be taken home daily to complete and return the next day. Homework will include spelling words on a daily basis and these words will be tested on every Friday. An assignment in Math will also be given on a daily basis. Parent assisstance is necessary on the Math homework.
Reading is also included as homework on a daily basis. Reading books are sent home with assigned pages to read. Children should read outloud to a parent, adult or older sibling with good reading skills. Reading daily asssures constant improvement in our reading skills and increases fluency and comprehension skills. It is vital to the success of your child in reading.

My name is Mrs. Lynn Garrow and I have been teaching for 26 years. I have three children of my own so I can relate to parenthood and the challenges associated with raising children. I have taught K4-4th grade in my career and loved them all. I have been teaching K5 for the past 5 years. I have high standards for myself as well as for my students. We are going to have so much fun this year in kindergarten! We will make new friends, play, learn, sing, dance, paint and much much more! My class is designed to help each child develop and grow at their own individual level.
